Well worth the read
I have read much of Peter Aldin’s work over the years, and the man gets better with every new release (not to say his previous work isn’t great! Everything is a ‘must-read’).
I may be biased, but my first love is epic fantasy — with sci-fi a close second — and Last Among Equals doesn’t disappoint.
I’m not going to give spoilers, but this book has all the hallmarks of a great epic fantasy: multiple character arcs, detailed world-building, magic, beasts, gods doing their thing, as well as the expected action and adventure. I was not disappointed. And I’m sure you won’t be either.
I hope this book is just the beginning of this fascinating world he has created.
