Leonie is a half-human, half-rrell thief, feared and shunned by the world around her. With powers she barely understands and an origin she can’t remember, she survives in the shadows of a city ruled by a ruthless overlord. But when an innocent rescue spirals into a quest to deliver a prophetic book, her fate becomes bound to prophecy that could affect the survival of civilisation.

Joined by a shape-shifting ally, an almost-immortal psionic pacifist, telepathic wyverns, Leonie must navigate a world teeming with deadly religious sects, hired assassins who refuse to stay dead, and monsters that crawl from the very bones of the earth. As the weight of destiny presses on her shoulders, Leonie will struggle with her reluctance to embrace her power, all while fending off enemies who want her dead or enslaved.

In this imaginative and action-packed epic, Leonie’s journey through the City of Bridges is just the beginning. Hidden secrets, mythical creatures, and a swirling tide of magic await, but only if she survives the treacherous path ahead.

Welcome to the world of Yarnik—where prophecy and power collide, and destiny is more dangerous than anyone imagined.

Breathtaking and adventures, with wonderful world building, amazing creatures that you will love. And so much more.
I was so amazed by this world and its creatures, and I found myself smiling so much for how beautiful it is there. Sometimes I even re read some paragraph just because they was so good.
There is nothing more beautiful than when you start a book, and getting to know the characters and the world. For then to eventually get the pages to disappeared and get dragged into the book and its world.
The characters are fantastic, with a fantastic female character, and a great banter between friends. There is so much happening in this book, that you will never find a slow moment here. And I can't wait to learn more in the next books in this series.

City of Bridges by Andre Jones is a highly imaginative epic fantasy that delivers a delightfully fresh take on the fantasy genre. The story begins when Leonie, a half-feline, half-human thief, lets her curiosity get the better of her when she tries to protect a courier from assassins.
Consequently, she gets tangled up in a quest to protect the codex of prophecies the courier was carrying from warring religious factions.
With assassins on her tail (she has a tail), Leonie escapes the city hoping to deliver the codex to Styx, a rock-like creature, who she’s told can protect it. It’s not long before Leonie is in more trouble than a she can handle. Fortunately, she’s not alone. Feiron, her shapeshifting best friend, helps get her into nearly as much trouble as he causes.
Leoine doesn’t realise it yet, but her quest will take her on a path of discovery, beginning with the very origins of her own creation.
City of Bridges is a fun, action-packed adventure, but impressively it also has a depth to its storytelling and world that many fantasy stories seem to lack these days. The author’s clearly put a lot of time and love into this story.
Filled with an exceptional variety of creatures you’re not likely to find in any other fantasy, and a rare depth to its worldbuilding, City of Bridges is highly recommended.
